CALABASH

Calabash is a magical fruit. Its not for eating, but its used for many purpose. There is soft white fibre inside, which can be removed, so the shell can be an empty container. Amerindians use it for drinking mate tea from it. They say, its like a micro- cosmos and whiles drinking from it, it gives you all the information you need. In Brazil they make a musical instrument BERIMBAU with it . They know, it gives the energy for the capoeira fight. Whiles playing it, they push the calabash open part next to their solar plexus and increase the vibrations of the will for freedom. In Africa and Indonesia they also use it as a music instrument KALIMBA, or shakers, used during the drumming sessions. In caribbean islands they mostly use it for food bowls. Calabash is SAINT LUCIAS national tree. As the symbol of micro cosmos and musical vibes its also a synonyme for BASHMENT- the Caribbean reggae party, born in JAMAICA and spread all around the world by now.
